Every year, each well-known designer or brand introduce her/his masterpieces during fashion show weeks around world. Here we are going to take a look at the most important fashion events that are held annually or biannually.

note: Every year,the schedule among these famous shows, normally begins with New York, followed by London, and then Milan, and ending with Paris.

Paris fashion week

Paris fashion week is a series of presentations of designers that happens twice a year (spring/summer and autumn/winter events) in the Capital of France and it is basically divided in to 3 categories:
Men’s fashion, Haute Couture and Prêt-à-Porter (which means: ready to wear)

Haute Couture:

it is deemed highest Quality and highest Price and each item that will be shown in Haute Couture to an individual client, both in style and size.
Every fashion house that want to be considered as a member of these shows must an strict criteria.
For example:

It must have a work shop in Paris that has at least 15 full-time staffs.
The fashion house must design made to order pieces for clients with at least one fitting so that people can ensure that the Haute Couture members are able to tailor pieces faultlessly that will be an exact and perfect fit for a client.

Prêt-à-Porter:

 

They are often available pre-seasonally, catering the climate and economic changes. Although tha pieces that are shown in these presentations are in high quality and even may have gotten inspiration from Haute Couture lines, they have a lower exclusivity and as they are being produced in higher quantities, costumers are able to find and buy them from retail or online shops.
Haute Couture brands, such as Chanel and Dior, often present a Prêt-à-Porter line. These collections are presented during fashion week with exclusive guest lists for celebrities, press and fashion bloggers.

London Fashion week

London fashion week takes place twice a year in September and February.

Milan Fashion week

For the first time, it presented in 1958 and since then it is held semiyearly.
Many huge brands attend make presentations in this event. like: Roberto Cavalli, Dolce & Gabbana, Etro, Fendi, Ferragamo, Gucci, Jil Sander, Marni, Max Mara, Missoni, Moschino, Philipp Plein, Prada, etc.

New York fashion week

It is a semi-annual series of events which is held in February and September of each year, when international fashion collections are shown to buyers, the press and the general public.
